The library is partnering with Driving-Tests.org to offer free PA Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests specifically based on Pennsylvania’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
Freegal offers access to about 9 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists, and over 15,000 music videos. The library’s MakerSpace on the second floor is designed to be an area where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, create and build. Current equipment in the MakerSpace includes three 3D printers, a MakerBot Digitizer 3D Scanner, a Janome Sewist 500 sewing machine, a Janome Memory Craft 350e embroidery machine, and a Snan n Cut Digital Cutter. The MakerSpace is a work in progress, with more tools and equipment added as needed.
Resources in the MakerSpace are available on a reservation basis. Please see a Reference Librarian to sign up for a time slot to use any of the equipment.
