The McMurray Store was built in 1922. Later on its foundation, Joseph H. McMurray built an office for the telephone company. He sold the McMurray Telephone Company to Bell Telephone in 1929, and as part of the sale agreed to build and lease a building for the use of the telephone company. This later was a drug store, beauty shop, and an ice cream store.
