Book Discussion: Voices from the Attic
December 1, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
This program is filled. We are not longer accepting registrations.
While cleaning his parent’s attic, author Carleton Young discovered an enormous collection of letters written during the Civil War by two soldiers. After spending more than a decade transcribing the letters with the help of friends, Young’s book tells the story of two brothers who witnessed and made history by fighting in the Peninsula Campaign, then at South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness and Cedar Creek. They preserved that history through their surprisingly detailed and insightful letters. Rediscovered after 150 years, their letters offer a fascinating insight as seen through the eyes of two soldiers fighting in America’s great Civil War.
A book signing will follow the program. Signed copies of Voices From The Attic will be sold for $19.95 cash or check.
