Do you love watching Pretty Little Liars? Read the series that started it all! Each month we will be discussing a book from the Pretty Little Liar series. We will be reading them in order. Join us the first Saturday from 1 to 2 for some PLL book discussion, trivia, and of course episodes! Upcoming titles:

National Banned Books Week celebrates our freedom to read. There will be a display of books in the Teen Room that have been banned over the years. Check out any banned book during September and earn a chance to win a basket of banned books for your personal collection!

Animal Fair

Saturday, September 27, 2014
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Fun for the whole family! Love animals? Join us as we celebrate our animal friends of the library. Check out and/or adopt a new pet friend, learn about pet care, and all things pet related. We’ll be visited by local shelters, vets, trainers, stores and more.There will also be a special appearance by the Washington Wild Things mascot! Prizes and giveaways for you and your animal friend! Please bring a pet supply donation for the Washington County Humane Society, our local shelter. Special events include:

11:15 - 11:45 a.m.: Small Pet Care presented by Petco
Noon - 12:30 p.m.: Scent and Trick Dog presented by Keystone K-9 Club
12:45 - 1:15 p.m.: Dog Training with Nick the Dog Whisperer
1:30 - 2:00 p.m.: Visit with the Washington Wild Things Mascot
The Greene County Humane Society will be bringing adoptable kittens, and Angel Ridge, Animal Advocates and the Washington Humane Society will also be bringing furry friends looking for new homes!

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with all the participants, who will be distributing samples and coupons. Everyone will receive a raffle ticket for an Animal Lover's Basket. All children who attend will have a chance to win a free animal book while supplies last. Donations are being accepted for the Washington Area Human Society in the lobby through the day of the fair. Registration is not required to attend this free event. Please note: This event is being offered to pet lovers of all ages, but please do not bring your pets to the fair.


Are movie prices getting you down? We have just the solution for you! Join us for our Teen Afternoon Movies, complete with popcorn! Movies will be shown in the Teen Reading Room using the overhead projector and big screen. Call the Teen Desk or check back at the website to see what movie we're showing each month.

When: Fridays, September 5, October 3, November 7, December 5, 2014
Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Ages: Young Adults entering grade 6 and up in the fall

So many of our favorite YA books have been made into movies. Come join us for a movie night to compare the film to the book! Refreshments will be provided. Children under 6th grade are welcome with teen siblings for any movie with a "G" or "PG" rating.
