February 25 - March 10, 2016The Gallery

The Peters Township High School Photography Classes and Photography Club will exhibit their work during regular library hours in the main lobby of the library from February 25 – March 10, 2016 . “The Gallery” is an impressive display of hundreds of photographs all taken by our PTHS studentsl. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 25 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Matted photographs and canvases will also be on display. The Photography Club officers include President Casey Gudenburr, and Board Members Angela Heisinger, Carson Kochman, Maddie LaVigna, Ashley Leniaskowski, and Jillian McCloskey.

What do you Geek? Stop by the Teen Room or upstairs in our MakerSpace area during the week to learn something new!

The schedule for the week includes:

Monday, March 7: Tour our Makerspace and learn how to create using these fun resources.

Tuesday, March 8: Special "Techy" Crafternoon: Learn how to upcycle a discarded cassette tape into a mini journal.

Wednesday, March 9: We are starting a special Minecraft group at the library. Join us for our first every Minecraft team gaming session!

Thursday, March 10: Stop animation. Use library devices to create a stop animation video.

Friday, March 11: Gaming, Gaming, Gaming! What's your favorite video game? Challenge your friends to a tournament.

Saturday, March 12: Join us at the Tech Fair!

Looking for a volunteer opportunity AND a way to help your community? We’re looking for teens who love technology and would be willing to assist patrons with e-book downloading and basic tablet/smartphone use. Show off your tech skills and earn the respect of those out of the "tech loop"! Please contact Shannon Pauley, Youth Services Librarian, for details.


Are movie prices getting you down? We have just the solution for you! Join us for our Teen Afternoon Movies, complete with popcorn! Movies will be shown in the Teen Reading Room using the overhead projector and big screen. Call the Teen Desk or check back at the website to see what movie we're showing each month.

When: 1st Friday of the month
Time: 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Ages: Grades 6 and up
