The Peters Township Public Library provides access to the online databases listed above
as a service to our library patrons. For remote access, you will need to supply your library
barcode number as part of the login process. Arranged alphabetically, a description of each
of the databases is provided below to aid you in your research. You may also access the database by clicking on the heading.

America's Newspapers features a collection of over 700 full-text U.S. newspapers and includes current and archived coverage of issues, events, people, government, sports and more.
Includes staff-written articles, obituaries, editorials, announcements, real estate and other sections.

Biography Resource Center contains more than 422,000 biographies on more than 335,000 people
gathered from more than 940 volumes of more than 135 award-winning Thomsal Gale reference
sources. In addition, full-text articles from nearly 300 magazines specifically
chosen for their renowned biographical content in a broad range of subject areas are featured.

College Source is a virtual library representing over 35,191 college catalogs in complete
cover-to-cover original page format with 2-year, 4-year, graduate, professional and
international schools. Access to the college catalogs is available to anyone in the
world with access to the nternet. Users can find colleges by major, enrollment, tuition,
degrees, state and affiliation. The site also includes a profile of every
accredited college in the U.S. along with links to college home pages, career information,
and financial aid information.

Facts on File World News Digest @FACTS.com presents the full text of Facts on File World News
Digest since 1940, plus a live newsfeed from Reuters® and thousands of in-depth features,
images, charts, and primary documents. Facts On File World News Digest @
FACTS.com connects all the relevant material in the database, using more than
half a million internal hyperlinks. Thousands of additional hyperlinks connect
researchers to relevant information from the three other databases @ FACTS.com:
Issues & Controversies; Today's Science; and the World Almanac Reference
Database, including the World Almanac Encyclopedia.

Ferguson's Career Guidance Center offers detailed and up-to-date descriptions of more
than 2,800 of the most popular jobs in 93 industries, as well as more than 23,000
resources (many with Web addresses, when applicable), to help you select, plan, and
advance your career.

Grolier Online Encyclopedia is published by Scholastic Library Publishing, Inc., a
division of Scholastic Inc. It includes four encyclopedia databases:
Encyclopedia Americana (authoritative research and information for grades 8 and up; includes biographies)
America the Beautiful (U.S. history and current state information for grades 3 and up)
Lands and Peoples (all countries, cultures and current events around the world for grades 5 and up)
New Book of Popular Science (everything science for grades 5 and up)

HeritageQuest source document holdings include over 250,000 titles, making it America's largest genealogical
information provider. The company is dedicated to producing high-use data, landmark publications, general
reference books and timely, informative periodicals for genealogy enthusiasts at every level.

PA POWER Library is offered as a service of Pennsylvania's public libraries, school libraries, and
the State Library. The POWER library allows you to acces thousands of full text periodical
articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps,
reference materials for young people and more. You will find materials of interest in most
subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults.

Rosetta Stone is the number one language-learning software in the world and is used successfully by millions of
people in 150 countries. Their award-winning Dynamic Immersion method taps the same skills people used
to learn their first language, making language learning easy and efficient. As of December 31, 2007, Rosetta Stone
will no longer be offering an online service. However, several Rosetta Stone language programs are available
to use at the library. Please consult reference department staff to access these programs.

Statesman's Yearbook provides comprehensive information on the current, political, economic and social
status of every country in the world. This site contains the full text of the current edition of The
Statesman's Yearbook, regularly updated to reflect recent world events, with extensive search and
browse facilities.

The Testing & Education Reference Center database offers assistance in locating a college or
graduate school, help finding scholarships, and on-line practice tests for college entrance
exams or licensing exams. The database includes thousands of college and graduate school entries.
